Employment

We are looking for staff members who are enthusiastic about being in the outdoors, genuinely friendly with people, and ready to work hard everyday. Please complete the employment application thoughtfully, and as objectively as possible. Give careful consideration to the statement of available dates for employment. Our summer season begins at the end of May and runs into late September. We will consider availability equally along with skills and attitude in making our final selections for summer staff.

Our staff members must have a positive attitude toward the Ranch and have the desire to help our guests have a wonderful vacation.

Staff appearance is important at the Ranch as in any service operation. All staff members must maintain clean and neat appearances. Facial or body piercings as well as excessive tattoos are not our idea of a clean, neat appearance. Staff members are required to wear La Garita shirts, these are provided by the Ranch. All work attire must be well maintained.

In addition to salary and year-end gratuity, staff members are furnished with excellent meals and lodging in western style bunkhouses/dormitories.

The recreational facilities of the Ranch are available to staff members DURING OFF-DUTY HOURS WHEN THEY ARE NOT IN USE BY OUR GUESTS.

The possession or use of illegal drugs constitutes grounds for immediate dismissal. No drinking of alcoholic beverages is allowed while on duty or in any work areas. Possession or consumption of alcohol by a minor or enabling a minor is cause for immediate dismissal. Violations of any laws or regulations are subject to lawful prosecution through the Mineral County Sheriff’s Department.

Smoking is not allowed while on duty, or in any of the Ranch buildings or vehicles at any time.

No firearms or pets are allowed.

Upon receipt of a completed application, references are checked. Promising candidates are contacted for a phone interview. We will begin our hiring process in November for the summer season. We do not make selections based on race, creed, color, or sex.
